Insurance inspected the roof. Now what?

First of all, congratulations on getting this far! Rest assured, if you're a Prestige Roofing customer, you're in good hands. Depending on who performed the 'insurance inspection,' you can expect a financial determination by your insurance carrier as early as same day and as late as a couple weeks afterwards. Typically, if the inspector was a direct representative of your carrier, you'll receive the estimate in 1-3 business days. If it was a third party, it will likely be between 3-7 business days. When you receive a decision, it will likely be via email as long as you have one on file.


Your Prestige Roofing field rep will be reaching out within a couple business days to follow up if they haven't heard from you. When you get the estimate from insurance, don't be surprised if it looks confusing. Give us a call and we'll help you understand it. We look at all the time, and can help make you identify if they are paying for all the necessary components that are required to adhere to code and manufacturer warranty standards. Our estimates are always written to meet these requirements, and you'll want to be sure to share it with the adjuster.


Some claims are denied at first, instead of being approved after the first insurance inspection. We have to keep in mind that they are a for-profit business, and there will be some claims that they deny at first, but truly are willing to pay out on if the homeowner persists. If this is the case for you, the path forward is simple. First, share any claim-related paperwork with your Prestige Roofing representative. He or she will check for any special circumstances that may apply to your case. Otherwise, you'll simply need to call the carrier's 24/7 claims line or call/email the adjuster, give them your claim number and ask for a 2nd inspection. At that point, they will probably ask for our photo report.
